Kunda Astratta, Creeps! This week, we’re still in the woods. The cold, dark, dank woods. Doing some reading – outloud. Making sure things are safe and secure. Chains are in place. Boomstick is loaded. Chainsaw has fuel. We’re good. We’re safe. We’re alive.
The bridge is out, but that’s okay – we’ll just wait the storm out. Make our way through the forest in the morning. No worries. No worries. Nothing’s gonna get us. Not another peep.
This wee, we’re obviously talking about the incomparable cult classic, Sam Raimi’s “The Evil Dead.”
Born out of the hopes, dreams, and determination of a twenty-year-old with Hollyweird ambition, “The Evil Dead” blasted onto the festival circuit and took horror fans by storm.
Eventually making its’ way into cinema’s worldwide and into the hearts and minds of millions, “The Evil Dead” proved itself to be a bona-fide classic which went on to spawn several sequels, video games, comic books, and television shows.
We take a look at the plot, the heartwarming backstory of the little-horror-film-that-could, and the real life Occult texts said to raise the dead and give the wielder the power to control demonic entities.
All that plus more Horror News and Tales of the Strange and Unnatural in this wonderfully campy episode of The Horrorfied Podcast.
