In this week’s Everything is Black and White Podcast the ChronicleLive NUFC team are joined by the Times’ North East football writer George Caulkin to discuss all things Newcastle United.
Host Andrew Musgrove, Mark Douglas and Chris Waugh also join in the episode, and along with Caulkin analyse Newcastle’s defeat to Liverpool and preview the crunch game against Southampton this Saturday at St James’ Park.
Also up for discussion is Rafa Benitez’s long term future at Newcastle, Mike Ashley’s approach to the club and the percieved failures of the last three transfer windows. The trio discuss who they think will relegeatd from the Premier League with just nine games to go. With just 10 points separating 8th to 19th place in the top flight, one win could take Newcastle up the league while a defeat could quiet easily see them drop into relegation zone.
And we also answered fan questions, which included the Newcastle takeover and Amanda Staveley.
Caulkin interviewed the billionaire financier back in January after her attemmpts to buy Newcastle United provide fruitless. Caulkin goes into depth about meeting Staveley and what he feels she will do next in terms of trying to buy the Magpies.
