Hey fellow Horror Fiends, welcome back to another ridiculous episode of the Horror Junkies Podcast. It’s may so that means were kicking off our It’s So Bad Its Good Film Festival. A month-long discussion where we watch some of the worst horror movies in existence and talk about them. We know, real original, but you will cry with us this month.
As always on the show we discuss the news that surrounds the Horror world and there are some interesting stories this week. First up FX has ordered 10 episodes of the What We Do in The Shadows TV series. For those of you who haven’t seen this movie, please stop what you’re doing and watch it. The TV series is set to release Spring of 2019, but will wait and see. Another awesome bit of news is that we are getting a book based on Jonesy the cat point of view during Alien. For those of you who don’t know Jonesy is the cat of the Nostromo in the 1979 release Alien. The author Rory Lucey will be releasing Jonesy: Nine Lives on the Nostromo with Titan Books October 16th.
A Horror Junkie First happened on the show as well. We opened and reviewed a package we bought from Night Club Zine, an independent artist who gave us all kinds of horrific treats. Make sure to follow his Instagram page and check out his stuff. Also consider Magnetic Magic Rentals, another project associated with Night Club Zine, there’s a lot of weird obscure horror flicks to be watched.
Later in the show we finally discuss the first three films of the It’s So Bad Its Good Film Festival. This week was Patrick’s pick and we must say it was a great way to start the month. The first film up for discussion was Charles Band’s 2006 release titled Evil Bong. A film that currently has 7 films in its series, all of which are very bad. The second film Patrick picked was Trolls 2, the most iconic bad horror movie in circulation. What can we say this movie is just so damn bad, it’s great. From the ridiculous story line to the fact that the monsters or Goblins, not Trolls. This a movie that always great to watch, so make sure to add it to your list. And lastly, the most excellent girls from the Good Mourning Nancy podcast, suggested that we watch the 1988 release Hobgoblins. A movie that is so bad that it could be the reigning champ this month.
Most importantly, make sure to follow us on Instagram and Twitter to keep up with us during the week and if you like the show leave us a review, so other people can find us. If you have any ideas, topics, or horror items for us to review, send us an email at horrorjunkiepodcast@gmail.com.
