Dr Janina Ramirez discusses plague with Rebecca Rideal. Rebecca is a writer, former television producer and historian, specialising in the Stuart dynasty and seventeenth-century England. She now focuses on consulting and has worked with a number of heritage sites, TV companies and independent researchers to bring the intricacies of the past to a wider audience.
Rebecca also writes for The Guardian, New Statesman, BBC History Magazine and History Today on topics as varied as early modern women, fiction vs nonfiction, the portrayal of literary figures, the Great Plague and the accuracy of historical drama. Her first nonfiction book, 1666: Plague, War and Hellfire, is published by John Murray (UK) and St Martin Press (US).
