“As the sound of the playgrounds faded, the despair set in. Very odd, what happens in a world without children's voices.”
― Children of Men
A small band of children huddle in a graveyard on the outskirts of a city fallen to ruin.
To learn more about how Children of the Fall is played check out our primer episode.
The Tribe:•An Unnamed group of about 13 children, a medium sized tribe, with no clear leader.
•Two months after the fall the tribe is holed up in a graveyard outside Indianapolis.
•They have an abundance of shelter, building material and tool. There is a dearth of food.
•In the short-term Tornado season is approaching, it is dangerous even with shelter, and with food in short supply they can't easily just hunker down. In the long-term the larger will supplied rural tribes, further out from the city could swoop in to do the tribe harm.
•The graveyard sits to the east of the city, between the graveyard and the city is a major big-box store. To the immediate east of the graveyard is a river or canal. To the north is a large forested area, and to the south a road that leads from town and out into the countryside.
The Mission:
•A Project to build up a Tornado Shelter & supply it.
•Tornados could strike at any moment so time is of the essence. The tribe will need to complete the project in the next couple of weeks. Smaller storms have already driven the fallen out of the city and added to the danger.
•Lack of food and fuel makes it hard to complete, we have many mouths to feed and our compassion has lead us to bring in children who are too young to help with food gathering and major works.
The Characters:
•Kelvin, the Innocent: a 12 year old who carries around a fish in a baggie.
•Jaques, the Martyr: a 15 year old goth, fascinated by death.
•Penny, the Hunter: A 15 year old tasked with doing the wetwork for the tribe.
