Olá!
Bem vindos ao episódio 56 do Portuguese Lab Podcast.
When I ask why you learn Portuguese and what would be the best thing you could do with that knowledge, many of you that live here in Portugal tell me, the best thing would be to be able to talk with the neighbors.
Especially if you live in a more rural area, you want to be able to ask about how their vegetable patches are doing and what’s the best time to pick the olives you have in your land.
So this episode is dedicated to you out there, that are in this situation.
Today we’ll be covering vocabulary. I’ll say the Portuguese word and the English translation and examples to illustrate the use of the word in context.
You can download the transcript (with the indication of genders and plurals) and translation of the examples. There is also a simplified version of this episode, without this introduction, so you can easily use the file for practicing!
Although the vocabulary today can be a little bit more technical, it can be used with very simple sentence structures, so if you’re a beginner, and if you want to feel a part of your community, this is also for you.
If there is anything you would correct in the English translations I suggest, please feel free to leave a comment on the comments section below, and I’ll correct it.

O Sr. Gonçalves tem vários tipos de árvores de fruto no seu pomar. Tem laranjeiras, limoeiros, macieiras, pessegueiros, nespereiras, pereiras e marmeleiros. Só amendoeiras é que não tem, porque não se dão aqui. Listen to the episode You might also like Be an insider!Already have the password for the content vault? Access it here.
