In Clinical Research we are in a unique situation where we have to have backups cover us in case either the site or sponsor or CRO for that matter may have questions. We have seen it time and time again when there is an issue that pops up unfortunately and the person you need is Out of the Office and isn't responding to emails. In the Clinical Research space there are backups when study team members are taking PTO and this helps to cut down on all the confusion. We see people taking a lot of PTO around the holidays in November and December as well as during the summer months when the kids are on summer vacation. For those that are new to clinical research this may provide some insights into the PTO etiquette and culture around PTO.
