When your toddler has behaved in a socially unacceptable way (tantrum, kicking, biting etc) it is vitally important that you separate the deed / behaviour from the do-er / your toddler. In other words, it's the behaviour that is questionable, not them. Doing this will allow you to remain compassionate, empathetic and kind while trying to work out what the need was beneath the behaviour.
