Over a thousand companies sign up for new counter-terrorism training course
Over 1500 companies across the UK have signed up to an innovative training scheme that could help prevent terror attacks.
Called ACT Awareness e-Learning, the training was developed in a ground-breaking partnership between Counter-Terrorism Policing and retail giant Marks & Spencer. It covers how to spot the signs of suspicious behavior and what to do if an attack should take place.
Free to use, the course can be divided into short sections to suit business needs. However, it takes just 45 minutes in total to complete.

Corporate Protective Driving: A View from the Field
By ISDA Member Anthony Gibson
In my role as a professional driver for a global company, it is my privileged responsibility (in conjunction with our Loss Prevention Department) to provide the safest and most dependable ground transportation for our senior management. Every detail of a principal’s itinerary (as it pertains to vehicle travel) is put into written form, and ample time is given for consultation and review. Route analysis is among the highest concerns, as is vehicle selection and maintenance. Occasionally, I will consult with a select group of individuals outside of our company with regards to route planning, location updates and the like. There is often good intelligence available, and it is our aim to make certain that every trip is without incident.

Quick Analysis of Executive Protection and Secure Transportation Job Opportunities
In the process of curating job opportunities for our members, we came across this interesting piece of data.
In a 55-day time frame, ISDA posted 110 job opportunities. The metric that struck us was that 38% of the job opportunities were located in California. The numbers indicate that three states represent 54% of the jobs, and 68% were for various types of EP positions, and 19% for Security Drivers. EP and Secure Transportation job opportunities are like any other opportunities in any other profession; they are sensitive to geography.
