In today’s episode, Heidi discusses the start of her music listening journal. She encourages young musicians to listen to compositions from start to finish. This way the listener follows the composer along their musical journey. For example, not only listening to all of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 in its entirety, (Mvts. 1-4) but also listening to Beethoven’s 9 symphonies in order. This gives the listener a new perspective of Beethoven’s writing within this genre.
