Time travel is travel from one distinct time to another distinct time, physically. Movement can be forward or backward and often involves some sort of device to cause the movement, i.e., a “time machine.” The time travel may take the traveler to an alternate time stream that may bear little resemblance to the traveler’s origin. Time travel is a popular theme among science fiction writers.
