Eve, the Matriarch of all Kings, created without sin, walked with God personally, talked with God audibly, and called the most beautiful garden home. AND YET, (oh, those two very little words that warn us that something is coming) it was not enough. Why is it that we, women, all women struggle with the idea that no matter how good we have it there is still something better out there? I mean, Eve had it all and yet she still wanted more. How many times have you thought when I get to heaven I am going to walk straight up to Eve and ask her what in the world she was thinking? I know I have! And isn’t just like God to remind us that when we point our finger at someone else there are 3 pointing back at ourselves? Yes, I have learned that often when I look in the mirror I have to ask myself “what are you thinking?” For I have tasted the lie from Satan that says I am not enough or that there is something better out there for me. The lie that says does God really love you and if so how do you know.
The most beautiful part of the story, though, is that even in her decision and choice of sin, God redeemed her in the end. She was still used as the Matriarch of all Kings and The King. Through her and for her God would defeat Satan. Isn’t it just like our almighty all-loving God to meet us where we are and redeem us?
Come sit with us for 30 minutes and learn about Eve in a way you might not have thought of her. Let her teach us and grow us. And one day walk with her woman to woman together and not in judgement.
