A Conversation About How Your Strengths Help You Get Work Done
Welcome to the next installment of the Leadership Vision Podcast where we share our expertise in the discovery, practice, and implementation of StrengthsFinder.
Today on the podcast, I’m having a push conversation with my colleague and our Senior Project Manager, Steph Wahlund. A push conversation is one where you are intentionally pushing all your Strengths to the center to learn more about how you’re wired. It’s also an opportunity to learn about how someone else is wired. The process is designed to help you see things from another person's perspective and also practice using Strengths language to articulate your perspective.
In this episode, we’re talking about how our Strengths make us productive. Productivity is such a buzzword right now, so just think of it as how your Strengths help you get stuff done. It was a fascinating conversation, and I learned not only about how I might become more productive (because Steph is the most productive person I know) but also about why Steph does things the way she does them.
The Eight Discussion QuestionsThis topic might seem random, but it’s from a list of eight conversation starters we use with our clients to talk about Strengths without necessarily having to talk about those Strengths. To get your push conversation started, find a friend and ask them how they do one of the following things:
Get work done Make decisions Form relationships Communicate Collaborate Adjust to change Learn new things Handle conflict
