In February 2009, Paul was out on a routine training session as a Navy Clearance Diver where he was viciously attacked by a bull shark. Paul lost his arm to the shark and later had to have his leg amputated due to the severe injury. Years later, Paul has drastically changed his life by implementing a mantra he learned during his military training: Improvise. Adapt. Overcome. Paul now travels the world, educating people about sharks, advocating the protection of sea life, and even promoting the vegan lifestyle when he can. He is also the host of Shark Week and he is the author of No Time for Fear.
In this Skype session with Paul De Gelder, we talk more about his story, how he managed to adapt after his accident, his nutrition and fitness plan, and the importance of protecting sharks and other sea life.
