EPISODE SUMMARY:
In this episode of Native Opinion:
Exercising and defending Sovereign rights is important for any Native American Tribal Nation to do. But what if a tribe uses that right to remove the freedom of their own press? We look at the recent decision by the Tribal Council of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation to remove the freedom powers of Mvskoke media, the press arm of the tribe. Was this a violation of the Muscogee constitution and the 1st amendment to the United States Constitution of the Right to a free press?
The Native Opinion theme song “Honor The People” is by Casper Loma Da Wa.
