Her bylines include Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Marie Claire, Playboy, Good Housekeeping, Woman’s Day, Redbook, Women’s Health, Time Out New York Magazine and Prevention Magazine. To top that, she is currently a contributor for The Lily at The Washington Post.
When interviewed, Shanon shares how she has overcome many challenges and obstacles. She shares with us how she transitioned into a successful career in media as a divorced mom and survivor of sexual assault. Her story starts at a young age with her first relationship, where her boyfriend turned abusive very early on. Listen in as she shares her story.
"I've been writing about sexual assault and domestic violence publicly since 2013, so I'm kind of known for sharing that narrative. My focus is always to share my experiences with women, help women get to the next level as it relates to their businesses, or their writing practice, or the media experience that they want to cultivate."
Shanon also shares her success habits:
"I have really worked on being realistic and being kind to myself. I think a lot of things that we do, even as it relates to taking professional risks have to do with being able to work through your fears and also recognize your value. I know specifically for women, we have a lot of issues working through limiting beliefs. We listen to a lot of the messaging that comes in, and a lot of it's negative. We are conditioned to play small and we're conditioned to consider ourselves last."
