An original is a creation motivated by desire. Any reproduction of an original is motivated by necessity. To create is divine, to reproduce is human.” - Man Ray

Our guest this week is Boston-based documentary photographer, Paris Visone. You might know her as a music photographer but her recently-released book, For Real, also includes documentary work of her own family. We discussed everything from her work on tour with bands to her fear that her compulsion to photograph might someday go away.
We’re spending a lot less time on our historical focus but we did touch on Man Ray and his photographic work, involving techniques like solarisation and photograms (which he humbly called “rayographs”).
As always, if you like what we do please share our podcast with your friends, leave us a review and/or rating on iTunes, and get involved in the Outerfocus Chit Chat group on Facebook.
You can now support the podcast by using the “Support the Podcast” button on our home page. All donations will go to advertising and hosting so we can grow our audience and keep the podcast alive.
That’s us done for 4 weeks now. We’ll not be releasing a podcast on 26th so you can relax, enjoy the holidays, catch up on some older episodes or re-listen to some of your favourites.
Have a wonderful Christmas & New Year and we’ll see you on the 9th January with a big one.
