Our first caller, Tomi, asked Nancy how to transition from being in college to the real world. He is worried about employing the knowledge and experience he gained in university towards a successful career. Tune in to hear Nancy teach him how to have confidence in where he’s at and also how to ask others in the industry for advice.
Our second caller, Song, was recently offered two exciting job prospects, one closer to home with less pay, and one further away with a better salary. She is worried about making the right choice, as this is her first job out of college. Hear how Nancy suggests that Song follow her instincts to take a risk and not settle for what’s expected of her.
Our inspirational guest, Papa Joe Aviance, lost over 200 pounds and went from a size 56 pant to a size 34 simply by shopping at the 99 cent store and walking. After seeing himself on camera during a music video, Papa Joe realized that at 450 pounds, he needed to make a change for his health. He was depressed, full of anxiety, and had low self-esteem. However, with the advice of a friend, Papa Joe realized that despite being unemployed he could buy healthy foods and exercise while spending almost no money at all. After saving all that money by shopping frugally, he rewarded himself with a new shirt. Eventually, Papa Joe became depressed over the difficulties of educating people on healthy living, and was confronted with another obstacle – a diagnosis of bile duct cancer. Since his diagnosis, Papa Joe has continued to fight to get his life back.
Our final caller, Michelle, is concerned about her older brother’s frequent drinking. She asks Nancy about breaking her brother’s habit, both for his own health and for his relationship with their family. Hear how Nancy explains that Michelle should be a loving sister and a consistent force of positive wishes for her brother while he takes the steps necessary to live a balanced life.
To reward yourself, Nancy suggests being proud of what you achieve, even if you have failed or experienced setbacks. By doing this, you will be able to maintain a more positive mindset and keep energized. This will pave the way to accomplishing even bigger goals as you live full out.
