Minute 098: I Do My Own Stunts

Best known for his television roles as Rick Sammler on Once and Again, as Det. Joey Indelli on Crime Story, as Jordan Collier on The 4400, and as Dr. Jon Fielding on the Tales of the City miniseries. He is also known for his recurring role as Luke Fuller in Dynasty which was his first prominent role. His most notable films include Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Enough. He portrayed Darren Richmond on the AMC television series The Killing, and played Dr. Alan Farragut in the SyFy series Helix.

And he was the title character in a little film called The Rocketeer.

Summary

Neville Sinclair  and Cliff are fighting in the zeppelin cabin.  Sinclair just knocked Cliff to the deck with one punch.

“I do my own stunts,” says Sinclair. He lunges at the prone Cliff.  Sinclair grabs Cliff by the scalp, and administers a body blow to Secord, followed by a right hook that knocks Cliff to land on the navigator’s desk.  Secord begins repeatedly bashing Cliff’s head onto the desk, while reaching for a  sharp brass caliper left on a chart. He tries to bring the caliper down on Cliff’s face, but Secord dodges and the caliper winds up stuck in the wooden desktop.

Sinclair looks around for some implement to use against Cliff, and settles on a compressed air bottle. Neville swings and misses Cliff, knocking a hole in another window, instead.  Jenny watches helplessly as the two men struggle.

Cliff grabs Neville by the lapels, but Sinclair knocks Cliff’s arms away. Neville counters with another right cross, knocking open an emergency cabinet. A Very pistol falls to the deck with other survival equipment. The flare gun slides down the deck to where Jenny is crouched.

Sinclair and Secord continue to trade blows.  Neville knocks Cliff’s head against yet another breaking window.

Jenny picks up the flare gun as Neville tries to shove Cliff out the space where the last window used to be.

“Stop!” yells Jenny, aiming the flare gun with both hands.  Sinclair looks at Jenny. The zeppelin tilts.

“No!” yells Cliff at Jenny. Sinclair, his eyes wide, sees the rocket pack about to slide out the open doorway. He lets go of Cliff and lunges for the rocket pack.

Jenny pulls the trigger. A flare ricochets around the cabin.  Sinclair grabs the rocket pack before it falls out the doorway.

Jenny presses herself against a stanchion to avoid the ricocheting flare. A shower of sparks erupts at the helm. Jenny runs toward Cliff.
