Eddie Valentine watches The Rocketeer head for the zeppelin.
“Go get ’em, kid,” says Eddie.
The Rocketeer impacts the guy wire connected to the rudder on the zeppelin. He breaks the guy wire and shuts off his engine, falling to the base of the tail. As he lands on the skin of the zeppelin, he grabs the broken guy wire to keep from slipping off the airship. A large rip on the rudder’s skin splits the fabric of the rudder, revealing its framework underneath the fabric. The Rocketeer manages to steady himself at the very end of the broken guy wire, and then stands up against the side of the giant tail.
The rudder’s skin flaps in the breeze. The Rocketeer bounds up the base of the tail, as the giant swastika on the tail is illuminated by searchlights.
The Luxembourg, with D-LZ130 painted on its side, steers away from Griffith Park.
Inside the ship, the pilot of the zeppelin notices that the rudder control is jammed.
“Stimmt was nicht (Is something wrong)?” asks the zeppelin Captain.
“Das ruder (the rudder),” replies the pilot. “Irgendwas ist los mit dem ruder hier (Something is going on with the rudder here).”
“Ach (sheesh)!” says the Captain. “Lieber Gott (Dear God)!”
The Gestapo agent isn’t pleased with the way the mission is turning out. “Also was? Wo ist er? (So what? Where is he?)” says the agent to Sinclair. “Spinnst du, Sinclair? Was ist mit dem freulein da? (Are you out of your mind, Sinclair? What about the girl?)”
“Halt die fresse (Shut your mouth)!” replies Sinclair. The Gestapo agent is outraged.
“Du ignorierst mich! Ich habe meine stelle! (You’re ignoring me! I have my rank!)” shouts the agent.
Meanwhile, The Rocketeer has reached the hatch on top of the zeppelin.
