With Jenny held hostage, Neville Sinclair, Lothar, Eddie Valentine and his gang face off with The Rocketeer in the plaza of the Griffith Park Observatory. Eddie’s just discovered that Sinclair is a Nazi agent.
“I’m paying you well,” says Sinclair, “Does it matter who I work for?”
“It matters to me,” replies Eddie. “I may not make an honest buck, but I’m one hundred percent American — and I don’t work for no two-bit Nazi.” Eddie pulls a pistol out of his coat pocket. “Let her go,” he says to Sinclair. The other members of the Valentine gang aim their weapons at Sinclair.
Neville laughs and smiles. He glances at Jenny and then shouts, “Sturmabteilung! Angreifen!”
Out of the tree line at the edge of the observatory plaza, dozens of Nazi stormtroopers run toward where Sinclair, the Valentine gang, Cliff, and Jenny are standing. Suddenly, Eddie’s gang is completely outnumbered and surrounded. The Nazi soldiers level their weapons at the group.
“It’s your move, Eddie,” says Sinclair. Valentine drops his pistol on the sidewalk.
The thrum of large motors fills the air. Everyone turns to look at the sky above the Griffith Observatory. From behind the domes dotting the roof of the observatory, the nose of an airship appears.
