Minute 057: Short Fella, Gimpy Leg

Best known for his television roles as Rick Sammler on Once and Again, as Det. Joey Indelli on Crime Story, as Jordan Collier on The 4400, and as Dr. Jon Fielding on the Tales of the City miniseries. He is also known for his recurring role as Luke Fuller in Dynasty which was his first prominent role. His most notable films include Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Enough. He portrayed Darren Richmond on the AMC television series The Killing, and played Dr. Alan Farragut in the SyFy series Helix.

And he was the title character in a little film called The Rocketeer.

Summary

Spanish Johnny, Jeff, Mike, and Rusty are talking to Cliff, Peevy, Skeets, and Goose at the Bull Dog. Millie is behind the counter.

“We need a flyer for a real special job,” says Rusty. “There’s a lot of lettuce in this.”

Peevy looks at Rusty. Rusty reaches into his pocket and pulls out a wad of bills. “What do you say we lay out a little finder’s fee?” asks Rusty. “How about it, Dad?”

“Secord!” says Peevy. “Oh yeah, I know him. Short fella. Gimpy leg.”

“Didn’t he move to Cincinnati?” asks Goose.

“Cincinnati,” says Rusty, smirking.

Spanish Johnny walks over to Cliff, and puts his hand on Cliff’s shoulder. “How about you, bub? You uh – – know this Secord?” he asks.

Millie leans over the counter. “If you boys aren’t ordering,” says Millie, “I’m going to have to ask you to leave.”

“We’ll order! We’ll order!” says Spanish Johnny, raising his hands in surrender. “Let’s see… how about those pies?” Spanish Johnny points at a display stand full of pies. “They look good, huh, boys?” says Johny.

“Mmm,” says Rusty. Spanish Johnny walks over to the display.

“I betcha they’re homemade,” says Spanish Johnny. He shoves the display case off the counter, smashing it against the back wall. All the airmen stand up, but Spanish Johnny’s sidekicks draw their pistols.

“Don’t interrupt his meal!” says Rusty.

“Yeah,” says Spanish Johnny, “I like coffee with my pie.” He grabs a nearby coffee pot and flings it across the room, smashing it into a booth. The other henchmen laugh.

“You know what’s funny?” asks Spanish Johnny. “I don’t like music while I’m digesting.” He pulls out a gun and shoots the radio.

Millie screams.

Skeets yells “Hey!”
