Minute 055: We Got a Gazebo

Best known for his television roles as Rick Sammler on Once and Again, as Det. Joey Indelli on Crime Story, as Jordan Collier on The 4400, and as Dr. Jon Fielding on the Tales of the City miniseries. He is also known for his recurring role as Luke Fuller in Dynasty which was his first prominent role. His most notable films include Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Enough. He portrayed Darren Richmond on the AMC television series The Killing, and played Dr. Alan Farragut in the SyFy series Helix.

And he was the title character in a little film called The Rocketeer.

Summary

Cliff and Peevy are seated next to the Cirrus X-3, listening to the radio, in the attic “head” of the Bulldog Cafe. The announcer is talking about the exploits of the mysterious Rocketeer.

“And now back to our program of dance band favorites,” says the radio announcer. Peevy turns off the radio.

Peevy rocks back and forth as he’s thinking. “Okay,” says Peevy, “here’s the plan: we’ll call the FBI, we’ll get rid of this damn thing.”

“Peevy, the FBI’s gonna lock us up!” says Cliff. “They think we were shooting at them. What do you think was going on at the house?”

“House?” says Peevy, “We don’t got a house, Clifford — we got a gazebo. Between the FBI and that King Kong gentleman, we’re gonna get ourselves killed over this thing.”

There’s a knock at the trap door of the attic. “Peevy!” says Millie, “Peevy, open up!”

Peevy opens the hatch and peers down at Millie and Malcolm.

“We’ve just come from the airfield,” says Malcolm. “It’s Bigelow –”

“What about him?” asks Peevy.

“His office is crawling with cops,” says Malcolm. “Somebody tore up his place like they were looking for something.”

“Yeah, so?” asks Peevy.

“They killed him,” says Malcolm.

“Cliff!” says Millie, “What’s going on?”

Cliff turns to Peevy. “I’ll make the call,” says Cliff. He climbs down the ladder from the attic.
