Being able to give ourselves a space or buffer between what we experience and our "response" to the experience, in order to move beyond the reaction, is a gift and one for mom's that can buy us out of many potential arguments and battles with out kids. I call it the power of the pause. In that space, being able to tap into our breath to ground and calm us and keep us present and away from fear is a lifeskill I recommend to all the moms I work with in my parent coaching practice.
