Today we spoke a bit about a new book I purchased, then we got in not the Epictetus quote. The idea of getting happiness from internal instead of external sources is a common theme in stoicism. And one come come back to often.
In case you didn't know, Epictetus was a Stoic who was prominent in the early second century B.C./C.E. (which was about four hundred years after Zeno.)
Our understanding of his knowledge, philosophy and methods as a teacher comes to us from the Discourses and the Handbook.
As per usual, if you want to say hi to the voice behind the One Take Stoic you can find me at: Thrivingonfat.com or follow me (not like a stalker) on Instagram and Twitter @thrivingonfat. Notice a theme? Anywho, I'll talk at you tomorrow!
