On the 23rd October 1979, a woman had been out horse riding along one of the trails in Bedgebury Forest in Kent. This had been a normal day until she spotted something unusual in the undergrowth at the side of the trail. Looking closer the woman quickly discovered it was the body of a woman. The woman had been beaten to death and left by the side of the path.
The police cordoned off the scene and began to investigate however they quickly realised that without any identification or witnesses they did not know who the woman was. After multiple appeals and one arrest, the Bedgebury Forest woman still remains a mystery.
