#092 – The Business of Bringing People Together with Derek Andersen and David Spinks of Bevy

Derek Andersen (@DerekjAndersen), David Spinks (@DavidSpinks), and I have a lot in common. At some point during our careers, each of us felt alone in what we were striving for, we decided to bring together people who were chasing the same goals we were, and we ended up growing communities and building businesses around them. After a string of startup failures and hardships, Derek turned a small support group of entrepreneurs into the global community for founder that is Startup Grind, and David turned a small group of community builders into CMX, the premier community for community builders world-wide. In this episode, we talk about why every founder should care about community, how bringing together like-minded people can be a productive first-step for any new founder, and the growth and marketing lessons that Derek and David learned from their successes.
