On the 8th August 1980, Marine Alan Addis went out on a mission with two other marines in the Falkland Islands. The men's job was to travel from the capital Stanley to an isolated settlement called North Arm on East Falkland. They were then to travel to Fitzroy, a settlement close to Stanley, to train some locals. That night at around 8pm the men went out to the social club in North Arm to wind down. It was only when the men set off the next morning back to Fitzroy that they noticed that Alan was missing.
