On today’s episode we have Level 2 Chek Coach, and long time Revive Podcast listener Louis Dutch.
Louis began a transition into the world of personal training in his early 30s, having always had a taste for being healthy and fit, but in a job that didn’t in anyway compliment his lifestyle. Having worked in IT for the best part of his working life he became dissatisfied with being in a job that offered little value to himself and felt there was a void.
The hunger and drive to do something that gave him more purpose was always on his mind and helping people with their health, fitness, and exercise, was the pathway he has taken.
Louis has studied with the Chek institute and is a holistic lifestyle coach and Chek Exercise Coach. The Chek approach interested Louis as it is a system that is holistic and focuses on working with people on multiple levels, not just the physical, but the mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
When it comes to movement Louis describes himself as a naturalist. Rather than wholeheartedly working on muscles and aesthetics, Louis focuses more on the movement patterns, corrective exercise, and wants to create beneficial carry over to activities outside of the gym in peoples day to day lives.
In today’s episode we discussed:
Louis’s transition from IT worker to Chek Professional
Why the office can be a stifling place to work
Why he got drawn to the work of Paul Chek and ended up becoming a Chek Coach
What makes him different from other coaches
Why ‘working in’ and not ‘working out’ is so important when it comes to clients achieving results
The most common issues Louis see with people today in terms of their health
The most important things people can do to get their health back on track & much more
It was great talking to Louis, as it with all the Chek Professionals that I have had on my show because they just get it. They understand the basics of what it takes for someone to be healthy and it comes through in everything they do.
