5. President of Chad arrives for first-ever visit
As president Zeman continues his tour of the country, Idriss Deby, the president of Chad arrived yesterday to begin his almost secret trip. Deby’s visit was only revealed at the very last minute and it makes him the first sitting president of Chad, a Muslim majority African nation, to come to Israel.
Following the El Al-flight 002, Rabbi Sholom Ber Sorotzkin, a well-known ultra-orthodox leader has just declared a boycott against the Israeli airline and Sorotzkin, who heads the Ateret Shlomo network of more than 40 religious education institutions says the boycott will only end with El Al’s willingness to apologize for the incident.
