Early details of the agreement in progress were recently released, and as part of it, the Palestinian authority would need to return to paying at least 80% of Palestinian government salaries in Gaza.

On a related note, the British labor party has just voted against a draft motion to condemn the murder of 11 Jews at the Pittsburgh tree of life synagogue. Only two labor party members backed the proposal, as it was ultimately voted down last week.
The United States has now offered its support for Israel’s plan to link Haifa to the Arab Gulf nations via transportation and intelligence minister Israel Katz’s “tracks for regional peace” plan.
8. Culture loyalty law clear first Knesset reading
After hours of long furious parliamentary debate, the Knesset cleared for its first reading a draft of the culture loyalty law that would enable the culture ministry to withhold public funds from organizations that are “working against the principles of the state”.
9. Bill legalizing poker in Israel advances
Pending the passage of a recently proposed bill for the first time in Israeli history, poker tournaments will finally become legal. The draft was initiated by Likud Knesset member Sharren Haskel and if adopted it would change poker’s legal definition to a game of skill as opposed to simple gambling.
10. Plan to help fight drought approved
According to the Israel water authority, we are now in the sixth long year of drought that has plunged local water tables to the lowest they’ve been in 98 years. So now the government has just approved a plan to pump desalinated water into the Sea of Galilee in efforts to offset some of the damage.
