1. Rockets fired from Syria

Things may be developing quickly on the Syrian front faster than previously suspected. Earlier this morning, two short-range ballistic missiles were fired from Syrian airspace at Israeli territory, triggering Israeli air defense systems. In a perhaps related bit of breaking news, Russia’s Foreign Minister has just arrived in Israel for a surprise visit to discuss top-level security issues with Prime Minister Netanyahu.

2. I.A.F. reportedly attacks base in Syria

Another round of airstrikes have just pummeled a Syrian base with links to Iranian forces, the fourth such attack this month. Israeli fighter jets were reported flying over Lebanese airspace en route to this facility, though as usual, the I-D-F has neither confirmed nor denied involvement in these alleged airstrikes.

4. Nearly 100,000 Israelis picket for gay rights
   Yesterday, tens of thousands of Israelis flooded the streets to protest the government’s failure to extend surrogacy rights to members of the LGBTQ+ community. Those number culminated in perhaps one of the biggest rallies for gay equality in Israeli history with nearly 100 thousand Israelis gathering at Rabin Square last night.

   As many of you know, the Western Wall in Jerusalem is one of the oldest relics of ancient Judaism on planet earth. The wall itself is the remnant of the second Jewish temple built over two thousand years ago. Well, a piece of the Western Wall has just spontaneously crumbled off the ancient structure, suggesting that the holy site may be eroding.

7. Israel U-20 team captures FIBA title
   Croatian sports teams have been showing the world who’s boss lately. The underdog nation most recently scored silver at the world cup earlier this month, and was slated to take home the gold at this year’s FIBA under-20 basketball championship. Until Israel’s team stepped up to the plate, that is. For the first time ever, Israel’s under-20 team has taken it all the way to the finals and nabbed the championship title, beating Croatia 80 to 66.
