1. Anti-Aircraft missile triggered

Israelis in the northern part of the country just got a bit of jump-scare. An anti-aircraft patriot missile was fired from the north, triggered by an incoming drone from Syrian airspace. For now it’s unclear whether the drone belonged to Syria, Iran, or someone else entirely. The army has confirmed that the enemy vessel retreated after the patriot interceptor was launched.

2. Israel about to get royal

Tomorrow Israel is getting a very special visitor. For the first time ever, a member of the British royal family, Prince William, will be visiting the Holy Land on an official state visit. While British royalty has been to Israel before, this trip is significant because it’s the first time it’s been done specifically by order from her majesty, the queen of England.

3. Trump peace envoy in Israel
   President Trump’s Mideast envoy spent the weekend in Israel to discuss the upcoming release of the White House’s still-unseen peace plan. The team has spent the last several days touring the region ahead of the plan’s expected rollout, though the envoy did not meet with any Palestinian leaders during the tour, Kushner has delivered a very specific message to the Palestinian people.

5. Knesset eyes new rights for LGBTQ+ Community
   Israel has often touted itself as one of the only places in the Middle East where people who identify as LGBTQ+ can freely live their lives. Legislation backing these freedoms, however, has sometimes been an uphill battle for this community. Well now the Knesset is eyeing two new bills that would greatly protect same-sex couples, and grant them the equality they’ve long been fighting for.
6. Laying track for peace
   The Israeli Government is saying ‘full steam ahead’ to an incredible new trade plan. The proposal would extend the current railways in Haifa to the east and connect them with train lines in Jordan but most amazing of all this means that Israeli rails would then be connected with grids as far as Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the rest of the Persian Gulf.
7. Surfers say ‘don’t poison us’
   Israeli environmentalists have just found a very clever and perhaps even record-setting way to protest the construction of new natural gas rigs less than ten kilometers off of Israel’s coast. Donning the mantra “don’t poison us” nearly a thousand Israelis grabbed their surfboards and paddled out into the Mediterranean this weekend to make a massive human circle at sea.
8. Isaac Herzog to head Jewish agency
   In spite of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s hopes, opposition Party Knesset member, Isaac Herzog has today officially been voted in as the new head of the Jewish agency. Herzog will take up the new position later this summer and here with more is ILTV’S Aaron Poris.
9. U.S. fast tracks E-2 visas for Israelis
   Israeli startups hoping to expand to the United States are about to get a major break! The United States will soon fast-track a new visa program granting Israelis the ability to apply for the E-2 visa. The E-2 is specifically designed for foreign companies and investors who intend to create a business in America and generate new American jobs.
