Ive been vegan since April 2001 and never met anyone with a protein deficiency or have heard of anyone with one. I beaten thousands of meat eating cyclists and runners in competitions, events and training sessions since being a vegan and at age 41 many of them now are 10- 20 years younger than me. The truth is you always get enough protein to be an elite level athlete if you eat 100% vegan diet. Otherwise I would be dead by now from protein deficiency and finishing back of the back instead of winning or being up the front in any 5k or marathon I do.
Here in South Australia the fastest 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon runners are vegan now. Crazy hey! The Kenyan diet really does work best for staying lean and getting your fastest out of yourself.
