Ep 261: "I can't get over the fact that MY music helps others!" with Marie White; Winner of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition

"I can't get over the fact that MY music helps others!" Marie White has gone from learning to write songs whilst recovering from a broken knee to Glastonbury!!

Our Badass Ladies Harriet, Emma and guest host Amanda Prowse are joined Winner of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition 2019 Marie White.

Marie will be performing across 4 stages over the festival and is sharing her thoughts, feelings and nerves with the ladies ahead of her Glasto debut.

 

Marie admits she started making music as a way to channel her energy and focus her attention after a knee operation left her unable to play sports, as a teenager she thought she would end up in an athletic career, now, she's amazed that her words and songs are moving people to tears!

She says that her music is so personal and compares it to letting people read through her diary, although, she struggles to listen to her own music and even admits to getting a "bit sweaty" in the studio as Harriet and Emma play Marie's new track "I Want You To Know" the song isn't played on the podcast but can be heard here.
