Marital Guideposts: Exploring Stereotypes That Create Reservations About Marriage
This is a workshop that was conducted by Shadeed Muhammad which explores some of the most common stereotypes among many African American Muslims that has contributed to many of the reservations we hold about marriage. Stereotypes related to brothers and sisters with children from previous marriages, African American women are non-compliant within the construct of the marriage bond as well as many of our preferences with respect to skin complexion and ethnicity that are also rooted in stereotypes and much much more.
