A family lawyer says New Zealand's divorce laws are outdated, and need to change.
The Law Commission has put forward more than a hundred recommendations on the matter.
The recommendations include changes to how property is split and income shared for up to five years after divorce.
Partner at Simpson Western Candice Murphy told Simon and Phil that it is time for changes to be considered.
She also shone some light on the facts and fictions when it comes to prenuptial agreements.
