Our First Look at ‘The Irishman’ and This Year's Oscar Hopefuls
Every Fall season comes with a heap of movies vying for prestigious awards, and with Fall on the horizon we're beginning to see the trailers for this year's awards seekers. What might be the biggest such movie is 'The Irishman', a highly anticipated gangster epic pairing director Martin Scorsese with old collaborators Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel, not to mention a fellow acting legend who Scorsese has never worked with before, Al Pacino. In this episode, we review the first full-length teaser trailer for 'The Irishman', covering topics like "face technology", Netflix's possible release strategy, and just how much the world missed Joe Pesci. We also review trailers for 'Jojo Rabbit', a delightful-looking anti-war satire from "visionistic" director Taika Waititi, and 'The Lighthouse', which might be the most unique (i.e. weird) movie among this year's awards contenders.
