Neuroticism is the personality trait that predicts one's tendency to feel negative emotions. Females are known to score higher in this trait but males can be neurotic too. People who are high in Neuroticism are known to feel negative thinking out past, present and even future, they are prone to depression and they can have really self-esteem, making them highly self-conscious.
