Campus free speech, ministerial discretion, and cheerio coal

On this Democracy Sausage we discuss freedom of speech at universities, the new religious freedom bill, and ask whether its time for Australia to say thank you and goodbye to coal. Mark Kenny is a Senior Fellow in the ANU Australian Studies Institute. He came to the university after a high-profile journalistic career including six years as chief political correspondent and national affairs editor for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The Canberra Times.

Will Grant is Senior Lecturer in Science Communication at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science at The Australian National University.

Julie Hare is Associate Editor at Wonkhe. She is a freelance writer, editor and consultant with particular expertise in higher education.

Sarah Ison is a political correspondent for The West Australian.
