Host George Rettas discusses the latest statements and warnings from IBM that quantum computing may render all currently used encryption useless, making all of our data less secure and raising privacy concerns with many privacy advocates around the world. Rettas explains what research is currently happening to find a viable solution to the problem before quantum computing becomes commonplace.
Rettas also breaks down the decision by the National Security Council to delay the release of the U.S. National Cyber Security Strategy due to inclusion of offensive measures in the document, as well as President Trump's decision to eliminate the role of the Cyber Security Czar on the National Security Council.
In the third segment of the show, Rettas highlights some figures out of the latest FBI report that states Cyber Crime exceeded $1.4 Billion dollars in 2017, as well as news that Facebook had another data leak that exposed user information for over 3 million users.
