In the Jungian Psychological model, Archetypes are defined as universal patterns and images that are part of the collective unconscious.
Carl Jung believed that these archetypes are primordial images of a role or a person that the psychic counterpart of our instincts. This is why, archetypes are often incarnated as characters in mythology, novels, fairy tales, and movies.
