Keely Eure and Shotgun Spratling return to the USCfootball.com studio with a new episode of the Family Feud Podcast to discuss how the Trojans responded to losing their starting quarterback in a big way with a 45-20 win over Stanford, showing some mental fortitude that we weren't sure if they had.
In this week's Stock Up/Stock Down segment, Keely and Shotgun have plenty of positives to mention, starting with the play of Slovis, who completed 28 of 33 passes for 377 yards and three touchdowns, and the assistance of Daniels helping guide the freshman throughout the week, the night before at the team hotel and also during the game. They also give credit to the offensive line, a pair of receivers and the offensive confidence the Trojans played with. On the defensive side, the USCfootball.com dueling duo note the work of a young cornerback and a veteran defensive lineman that stood out while Shotgun goes outside the box with a different defensive lineman.
When it comes to the negatives, Keely and Shotgun try to decipher Devon Williams' decision to enter the transfer portal while Keely looks at slow defensive starts while Shotgun points out one of the issues that has led to those struggles.
In 'Heard It On The Sidelines,' the feudsters give you a look behind the scenes at what they could see and hear from their sideline vantage point during the game, including the rapport between Graham Harrell and a freshman wideout, Clay Helton's message to Slovis after his first touchdown pass and the camaraderie/chemistry that the players seem to have amongst their teammates.
Keely questions Shotgun about the how Daniels may have fared against Stanford and whether certain backups should be getting more playing time at this point in the 'Agree/Disagree' segment.
This episode of the Family Feud Podcast concludes with the questions that you emailed (familyfeudpod@gmail.com) and tweeted to us, including why some certain receivers may be excelling at the same time others may struggle, how the USC offense may be affecting the Trojans' defense and what the trajectory for the team is over the next four games.
