Doug and James are back to break down week four in the wild world of NFL DFS. This was thankfully a relatively light week in terms of fantasy-related injuries, but there was still plenty to talk about.
The guys discuss whether Lamar Jackson is moving into the Patrick Mahomes tier of quarterback safety, and whether we should be worried after Mahomes' worst game of the season. Generally, they conclude that quarterback is still looking like a fairly safe position across multiple price tiers, and that we should have plenty of decent options for cash games and big tournaments going forward.
This week saw a few breakout performances at running back - most notably Nick Chubb and Leonard Fournette - and Doug and James discuss which of those have changed our assumptions about players going forward. While there are still only a small handful of game-script independent plays at the position going forward, there might be more safety here going forward than there appeared to be last week.
Wide receiver was relatively uneventful this week outside of a huge Chris Godwin game, with many chalk plays like Tyler Lockett and Keenan Allen disappointing. The one trend that has continued is that it seems to make no sense to pay up at wide receiver right now.
Tight end was disastrous this week, with chalk option Will Dissly standing out as the one beacon in an otherwise tough landscape. Austin Hooper continued a relatively high floor 2019 campaign, but outside of him things are looking somewhat bleak at the moment.
As always, DFSR will follow up this podcast with week 5 cash game plays, a week 5 game by game breakdown, and a picks article over on their website. For a limited time you can also grab a free one week trial to the projection system that powers these podcasts by heading on over to
