This week on science I continue the month-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. The three astronauts that were a part of that historic mission, Michale Collins, Neil Armstrong, and Buzz Aldrin, are all known in the annals of history. But there are some things that are not as widely known about the men that went to the moon, and I wanted to highlight each of them on this week's show, and I learned a lot. Like how Michael Collins created the iconic mission logo, or how Neil applied to be an astronaut almost too late, or how Buzz wrote in his doctoral thesis as a student that he wished he could join the astronauts one day.
