97. A Coach, an Athlete, and a Parent Walk Into an Assembly | Live at Anderson High School
In our latest episode, Mackey is live at Anderson HS in what he says was one of the most electric places he's ever spoken at.
Mackey emphasizes that what we learn in sports will translate to the rest of our life. We learn things like integrity, doing the right things because they're the right things to do, and we don't fear the consequence of doing so. We live in a world where people stay quiet because they are afraid of the consequences of doing what's right. What we learn in sports is that there is POWER in standing up for the person on your right and on your left. You makes sacrifices for one another so you can come together as one and stand up for one another.
We learn about commitment and attitude and how to respond to situations through sports. There is not a person in the world more powerful than you. You are the most powerful person in the world because no one can make you have a bad attitude. There's not a person in the world that can control your effort but you. You cannot control the cards you've been dealt in life, you cannot control the outcomes, but you can always control your response.
