On Tuesday night, Indiana scored another double-digit victory against an overmatched opponent in a game that was a tale of two halves. The Hoosiers shot well but didn't play well (especially on defense) in the first half, but they executed much better in the second half to turn a 7-point lead into a 26-point victory.
After the game, our crew broke it all down on The Assembly Call IU Postgame Show.
On the mics: Jerod, Ryan, and Andy
Among the topics discussed:
— Why Trayce Jackson-Davis' six-point flurry in the second half was the pivotal moment in the game and put Trayce's magnificent potential on full display
— Archie Miller didn't have his team ready to go from the tip, but whatever he said at halftime certainly proved effective.
— Assessing the struggles of Al Durham and Justin Smith
— Another encouraging night from Jerome Hunter
— Why Race Thompson is earning himself more minutes
— Rob Phinisee's understated but pivotal play in leading this IU team through some rough patches.
We also point out a few meaningful moments you may have missed, go inside the numbers, and hand out our game balls. All of that, and more, on this edition of The Assembly Call.
