What qualified Yeshua to be able to teach with authority? Under who did He disciple? This is the question that the First-Century religious authority asked Yeshua right after He healed someone in a synagogue on Shabbat, as we find in the book of John chapter 7.
Yeshua informs them that He has been discipled of His Father, something they could not understand or accept. They then attempt to publicly shame Yeshua.
Moving into chapter 8, verse 12, we find Messiah Yeshua again teaching in the Temple and the Pharisees again coming to Him in an attempt to again publicly shame Him. Yeshua continues to proclaim what and who He is, giving honor to His Father.
The way Yeshua received honor from His Father is something that we can do also today–what is it? (John 8:29)
John 8:32 is mostly quoted and taught as a self-standing verse, “and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” However, this verse starts with the word ‘and’–what proceeds is vitally important, what is it?
