Episode Breakdown: Must-Hear Wedding Tips from Real Grooms
Wedding tip: Celina's tip this week is to decide how much time you'd like to allocate to wedding portraits on the day of the wedding. For some couples, ambitious photographs are a top priority, while others are motivated by missing as little of their drinks reception as possible! We recommend chatting about this with your partner. Once you're on the same page, you're ready to discuss the portrait session with your photographer.

Wedding dilemma: A listener writes, “My question is about suppliers and vendors. Some are quite responsive with emails and confirming things, but others are quite slow and I find it quite frustrating. In particular, there’s a hair stylist who I would like to book a trial with before I pay the deposit for the actual day. I have crazy curly hair, so it's hard to find someone who actually knows how to work with it. I've had bad experiences in the past, so don't want to commit to someone before I can see how they work with natural curls. I found someone who has great reviews and settled on a date for the trial that’s the same date as my engagement photos, but I'm having to send a lot of 'Did you receive my email?' emails after a week of radio silence. I understand she's probably busy and my wedding isn't until April, but I'm just a bit frustrated, as I want to know if the hair trial date is secure, or if I should look for someone else. It also doesn't give me a load of confidence moving forward. Is this normal? We've had a few other vendors, like the DJ, be very slow to respond, but that doesn't bother me as much because there's so many options out there.” Our advice for this listener is give your supplier the benefit of the doubt, and go ahead with the trial, as you'll likely be happy with her when you meet her and get to see her work up close. Suppliers like hairstylists and DJs might have to communicate with dozens of different couples at once, so it's quite normal for them to be slow to respond to couple's queries.
Something to do when you're not planning your wedding: In this episode, Celina's recommending a Whatsapp-based book club!
