We pick up today with the third installment of the August 1997 Terence McKenna workshop. One of his more interesting revelations has to do with his high school Christmas vacation trip to Berkeley where he experienced cannabis for the first time and discovered that on pot he could perform feats of oratory to wow his listeners, and for which we are all grateful. He also tells the famous story of the 55 gallon drum of DMT that mysteriously disappeared from a U.S. Army truck, which was the source of his first DMT experience and which he talks about in detail. Later in his talk, Terence gives one of his most rhapsodic paeans to DMT that I've yet heard. He also gives a good explanation of why one should beware of the dreaded underdose. Interesting quotes from this talk include: “The only path in to the supernormal that I've found are the psychedelics. Everywhere else I found chicanery and fraud.” AND “What the alien needs to manifest among us is a suitable landing zone.” AND “In a sense, the Internet is a net to catch an alien.”
